The exhibition is organised by MoIC’s Department of Information and Media (DoIM) and RTA.
More than 800 photographs were received for the exhibition from which the selection committee selected 204 photographs. However, only 147 photos were displayed. All 204 selected photographs will be available for virtual viewing and will be uploaded on the Facebook pages of DoIM and RTA, for people who are unable to visit the exhibition. The photographers whose photos were selected for the exhibition will be given Nu 1,000 each for a photo.
As part of the photography exhibition, a selfie contest is also being organised. “This is to engage the youth in events such as exhibitions and also to promote exquisite photographs and the photographers of Bhutan,” a press release from the RTA stated.
The exhibition is being organised to showcase art works and creative photography, talent showcasing, confidence building and also to enable networking. It is also an opportunity to promote unique national identity and culture through creative photography.
The exhibition will be open to public from tomorrow until May 12.
