Disaster: A fire razed the three-storey Threyma Lhakhang in Jalikhar, Bumthang yesterday morning. No causalities were reported. The lhakhang is located a few kilometres away from Chamkhar town. The fire broke out from the kitchen around 3am. While the statues, and belongings were lost in the fire, the sacred relics were recovered. The cause of the fire could not be ascertained, however, the police suspect an electrical short circuit. The Lhakhang, owned by Threyma Association of Bumthang and built in 2015, was not insured.
