Noted authors, Aum Kunzang Choden and Rinzin Rinzin (PhD), received the SAARC Literature Award on March 26 during the 63rd Foundation of SAARC Writers and Literature (FOSWAL) festival in New Delhi. There were five other writers from India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. This is the first time the Literature Award has been given to a Bhutanese authors. The awards are given yearly to writers from the South Asia region as a form of recognition for their contributions in promoting literature through their literary works.
