Team Bjibjokha-Lobesa United beat team PSG-PHPA I 4-3 in the final of the Golden Jubilee Cup 2023, a departmental football tournament organised by Punakha Central School October 22.

The winner received a rolling trophy, a take-away trophy, individual medals, and Nu 70,000 cash prize. The runners-up received Nu 50,000 in addition to the trophy and individual medals, while the second runners-up team Ugyen Academy Staff FC received Nu 20,000 in cash. The tournament which began on August 27 saw 26 teams from Gasa, Punakha, and Wangduephodrang.

According to Sherab Tshering, the principal of Punakha Central School, the tournament is the final event of the Golden Jubilee celebration of the school, but the tournament will be an annual event henceforth. He also said that the tournament is part of the golden jubilee celebration of the school. Besides it was also conducted to entertain public.

Scoring 21 goals, Dorji Letho of Phobjikha Central School bagged the Golden Boot, and Samtengang CS staff team was awarded the Fair Play Team award. Lekey Bumpa from team PSG-PHPA-I was named the man of the match while his teammate Chencho Dorji was awarded the Golden Glove award.
