Bhutan commemorated the UN Day with the lighting of a thousand butter lamps and a prayer ceremony at Simtokha Dzong yesterday. The day marks the anniversary of the entry into force of the UN Charter in 1945. Bhutan became a member of the United Nations on September 21, 1971.
