The first Bhutan National Coaches Training for Special Olympics concluded in Thimphu yesterday. Some 35 special educators, coaches and professionals working in the area of disability were trained on how to coach children and youth with disabilities in sports. The Special Olympics Bhutan, under the umbrella of Draktsho Vocational Training Centre for Special Children and Youth organised the programme where participants underwent theoretical as well as practical sessions. The three-day programme was conducted in collaboration with the Special Olympics Bharat from India. Three resource persons including the chairman of Special Olympics Bharat also helped in training the first batch of Special Olympics Bhutan coaches.
