Lyonchhoen is scheduled to meet UN Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon in Gujarat
Diplomacy: Lyonchhoen Tshering Tobgay will be on an official visit to India today on an invitation from the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.
During the visit, Lyonchhoen will visit the cities of Ahmedabad, Gujurat, New Delhi, Varanasi and Bodhgaya. In Ahmedabad, Lyonchhoen will meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discuss bilateral relations, regional and international issues of mutual interest and concern.
Lyonchhoen will attend the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2015 and visit a number of successful projects initiated by the Indian PM. Lyonchhoen will also meet the Chief Minister of Gujarat Anandiben Patel.
On the sidelines of the Summit, lyonchhoen is scheduled to meet UN Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon, Prime Minister of Macedonia, Nikola Gruevski, Australian Minister for Trade and Investment, Andrew Robb and Danish minister for Trade and Development Cooperation, Mogens Jensen.
In New Delhi, lyonchhoen will call on the President of India at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and meet with the ministers of external affairs, home, defense, finance, power, minister of State for Commerce and other senior officials.
Lyonchhoen will also visit the holy Buddhist and Hindu sites in Varanasi and Bodhgaya from January 16- 17. In Bodhgaya, lyonchhoen will be presented with a Bodhi tree sapling as a gift from the people of India to the people of Bhutan.
The economic affairs minister and the foreign minister along with senior government officials are accompanying the Prime Minister’s delegation. The delegation returns home on January 18.
