On the invitation of the Government of Japan, Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay will be on a four-day official visit to Japan from April 10 – 13.

A press release from the foreign ministry states that the prime minister’s delegation will include foreign minister Damcho Dorji, Ambassador of Bhutan to Japan Maj. Gen.V Namgyel, labour secretary Sonam Wangchuk, bilateral affairs department’s director general Kesang Wangdi and other government officials.

During the visit, the prime mister will hold a Summit Meeting with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan, meet senior government officials, Honorary Consuls & Friendship Association of Bhutan in Japan, business leaders and others. The prime minister will also visit Soma City in Fukushima Prefecture and Oiso town in Kanagawa Prefecture besides Tokyo.

Japan is a longstanding development partner of Bhutan and the prime minister’s visit will further strengthen the relations between the governments and the peoples of the two countries.
