Crime: Thimphu police are investigating the murder of a 22-year-old man from Dagana. The incident happened on the night of January 28 near the Clock Tower Square in Thimphu.

The deceased, who was a freelance assistant cook, was stabbed in the head by a 23-year-old suspect from Bumthang.

According to police, the deceased was rushed to Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospital by his friends.  The hospital informed police   about the incident at 8.15pm. The suspect is a Class-XI pass student.

The dragger had penetrated the victim’s  head. The dragger was removed after an operation. The hospital at 5.45am reported that the victim had died.

Police arrested the suspect on January 29. According to the suspect, the deceased tried to hit him when he reached the scene and that he stabbed the deceased in retaliation.

The cause of the fight is being investigated.
