The number of Covid-19 cases in Trongsa has been increasing recently. The dzongkhag has recorded 151 Covid-19 positive cases between March 7 and yesterday.

However, the last Covid-19 positive person, who is a frontline worker, in the dzongkhag was discharged from the isolation facility yesterday.

Two positive cases with severe symptoms were referred to the Covid-19 hospital in Thimphu.  One patient was referred to Thimphu on March 19.

According to dzongkhag officials, the patients who were referred to Thimphu were those who were kept in home quarantine. The patients who tested positive are put into home quarantine. The respective flats are sealed and the people are restricted to visiting.

The dzongkhag Covid-19 task force treats all antigen-positive tests as positive cases and would be managed in strict home isolation. Earlier samples from those who tested positive on antigen test were sent for confirmation test or RT-PCR test.

With the new guidelines to manage the Covid-19, patients who require medical attention will be moved to an isolation facility after assessment by dzongkhag clinical management team.

Those buildings and flats with positive cases will be sealed by the security personnel. Expect for Korphu gewog the four gewogs including the Throm recorded positive cases.

The dzongkhag task force will impose relaxation and new Covid-19 management from today.

The offices, regional and financial institutions, hotels, restaurants and bars will open from today. The offices, hotels, restaurants and bars have been closed since March 14.

Dzongkhag incident commander and Trongsa Dzongdag Phub Rinzin said that while the offices will open from today, the respective offices will have to develop and follow standard operating procedure (SOP).

Dzongkhag covid-19 task force has identified Puenzhi Guest House as a reverse isolation facility and Kewathang Hotel as an isolation facility.
