The mysterious cracks on the road and houses in Kuengarabten in Trongsa will be repaired before February 15.

This was decided on January 8 during a consultation meeting between the households and the authorities concerned.

The gewog administration then notified the dzongkhag administration to depute an engineer to carry out an assessment and to work out a cost estimation.

Mangdechhu Hydropower Authority (MHPA) continues to monitor the cracks and damage to the structures.

A house near the road, which has suffered a major crack, would be demolished. The dzongkhag administration and MHPA in coordination with the gewog administration will assess the value of the house.

The cracks on the ground will be filled using compaction to avoid water seepage.

MHPA will fund the repair project.

Repair work at the nunnery began on January 29, MHPA has deputed officials to monitor the works.

A team was also deployed to check the soil movements. The sensors are being used in some houses near the road to check vibration.

MHPA has approved Nu 2 million for damage and rectification project.
