His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen arrived in Thimphu yesterday evening, after concluding a Royal Tour of the Southern dzongkhags which began on September 6th.

On the tour of Phuentsholing and Samtse Their Royal Highnesses Gyalsey Jigme Namgyel and Gyalsey Ugyen Wangchuck accompanied Their Majesties.




While in Samtse from 8th to 11th September, Their Majesties offered prayers at the Samtse Shivalaya Mandir, and visited the town to meet with the people of Samtse who had gathered to welcome Their Majesties.

To mark His Royal Highness Gyalsey Ugyen Wangchuck’s first visit to the south, Samtse Dzongkhag offered Ku Sung Thug Mendrel.




His Majesty visited Tendruk and Tashicholing to meet the Desuups of the 52nd Training Programme, and granted Audiences to the Samtse Dzongkhag officials and sector heads.

In Audiences to the dzongkhag and thromde officials and sector heads in Samtse and Phuentsholing, His Majesty thanked them for putting in extra effort during the pandemic. His Majesty reminded them that the pandemic has given us a new perspective, and we need to ensure that the lessons learnt are not wasted.

The Prime Minister accompanied Their Majesties on the tour.
