A total of 74 entries competed at the 21st annual National Design and Arts Competition (NDAC) held at the Royal Textile Academy (RTA) on April 16. Her Majesty the Gyalyum Sangay Choden Wangchuck was the chief guest at the event.
The competition featured six categories: gho weaving, kira weaving, embroidery, traditional painting, sculpture and wood carving.
The event showcased the finest works of art and design from across the country.
The national-level competition is aimed at promoting Bhutan’s unique arts and crafts by encouraging and providing a befitting platform and recognition to local artists and artisans to display their creative talents.
The competition winners were also awarded cash prizes by Her Majesty the Gyalyum.
The exhibition will be open to the general public until April 22.
