The Temasek Foundation, Singapore offered Covid-19 test kits for 10,000 tests to Bhutan.
Royal Civil Service Commission is the current partner agency for the foundation’s programme in the country coordinated the initiative. RCSC director Tashi Pem handed over the kits to the head of Royal Centre for Disease Control (RCDC) Dr Sonam Wangchuk yesterday.
The Fortitude Kit 2.0 was designed by Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) to detect the SARS-CoV-2 virus. This is an ‘All-in-One’ 1-step RT-PCR kit for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNA.
The RCSC stated: “Our Prime Minister, Dr Lotay Tshering has conveyed his gratitude to Temasek Foundation on behalf of the people of Bhutan earlier when the offer was made to the PMO.”
The commission stated that the support would enable the country to pursue the prevention strategy and would go a long way in protecting the people from the disease.
