Upon the Royal Command of His Majesty The King, a 3-day prayer ceremony is being performed at Namdroling Dratshang in Autsho, for the 23 people who lost their lives in Lhuentse last month. The prayers are part of the funerary rites for the victims of the flood and landslide incident in Ungar.
The prayer ceremony, which began on August 9 coinciding with the 21st day since the incident, is being presided over by His Holiness the Je Khenpo.
The 3-day prayers will be followed by Jingsey (fire purification ritual) performed by His Holiness at the incident site. Family members of the deceased participated in the prayers.
His Royal Highness the Gyaltshab, His Majesty’s representative in the east, joined the family members to offer prayers at Namdroling, together with the Minister of Agriculture representing the government, DGPC and dzongkhag officials, and local leaders. The program is being coordinated by the Office of the Gyalpoi Zimpon.
