The cold afternoon at Motithang Higher Secondary School ground did not dim the spirits of the young boys of team Royal Body Guard (RBG) youth who eventually won the RICB U-18 Baseball League yesterday.

They beat team Dechencholing Higher Secondary School (DHSS) with a single-point lead gathering altogether a total of 13 points.

All players were students of Dechencholing Higher Secondary School who were segregated into two teams based on their area of residence.

According to the Technical Head of Bhutan Baseball and Softball Association and the organizer of the league, Sanjeevan Raj Gurung, “The league has given us an opportunity to observe young players who can potentially play for senior leagues.”

Tandin Gyeltshen, 12, a player from team RBG youth said, “I am happy to win the league. I started playing softball only this year and my parents supported me during this league.”
