Team Return of Lotus won the 7th open Lingkhar archery tournament on Saturday at Lingkhar archery range in Trashigang defeating team Nyamro Nga.

Organised by Lingkhar Lodge, the tournament was held to commemorate the birth of HRH The Gyalsey. 

This year, 20 teams from six eastern dzongkhags participated in the tournament which began on January 27. 

Each team paid an entry fee of Nu 15,000 to Lingkhar Lodge. Champions Return of Lotus received a championship trophy along with a Refrigerator for each of its five players. The runners-up were awarded a washing machine each and the second runners-up were awarded 32 inch smart TV each. 

The mixed rules of Yangphel and Laya format games were held, an archer can play 15 rounds.

Team IMTRAT got off to an impressive start and made it to the semi-finals.

“Our performance was initially better than that of the local teams. However, we lost the semifinal match because our team couldn’t withstand the pressure,” said a team member. “We will assemble a stronger team next time.”
