Bumthang court sentenced two men to three years and six months in prison for killing three musk deer at Wangchuck Centennial National Park in Bumthang in September last year.

The men from Kazhi in Wangdue were found setting around 27 musk deer traps at Urukphu, three of which had killed three musk deer.

The men have appealed against the judgment.

The dzongkhag court also sentenced two men to non-compoundable prison terms earlier this month for killing the endangered species in the territory last year.
