Celebrating 25 years of VAST Bhutan’s efforts in promoting contemporary artistic beauty and cultural diversity within and outside Bhutan, an art exhibition is underway in Bangkok on November 12.
The White Canvas Bhutan art exhibition features the works of 58 young Bhutanese artists.
The 58 artworks by 58 artists were the entries for the White Canvas Bhutan Art Competition 2022 with varying themes from endurance, self-discovery, and patriotism to spiritualism.
Bhutan’s Ambassador to Thailand, Kinzang Dorji launched the exhibition.
“Their work reflects the beauty of our nation, people, and unique character. The young artists serve as young ambassadors of Bhutan to the world through their creativity and the many stories they tell through their arts,” the ambassador said.
VAST Bhutan Executive Director, Passang Dema said, “The White Canvas Bhutan exhibition embodies the dedication and creativity of Bhutanese artists, allowing us to showcase our contemporary art internationally. These exhibitions are part of VAST Bhutan’s ongoing efforts to bridge cultures, transcend boundaries, and celebrate the universal language of art. Bhutanese artists, as ambassadors through their art, foster positive connections between Bhutan and the global community.”
She thanked Their Majesties The King and The Queen for their blessings and their continuous inspiration to the artists’ community.
An official from White Canvas, Thailand and an Artist, Kyoko Abe, said, “The purpose of the event is to promote and empower the young emerging artists’ work through White Canvas Bhutan giving them a platform to showcase their artworks internationally.
VAST Bhutan in collaboration with Eastern Culture Foundation Japan, Palette Art Space, White Canvas Thailand, Bhutan Acorn Tours and Travel and The Siam Takashimaya organised the exhibition.
The exhibition will be open until the end of this month at Siam Takashimaya, 4th Floor, Event Space in Bangkok.
