Her Royal Highness Princess Kesang Chodren Wangchuck graced the Passing out Parade ceremony at Jamtsholing Gyalsung Academy in Samtse, where 566 Gyalsups completed the training programme.
Over the course of the three-month programme, the cadets not only underwent military training but also learned valuable life lessons in National Education, Driglam Namzha (traditional etiquette), Choeshey Larim (spiritual education), leadership development, and life skills.
Reflecting on his personal growth, Gyalsup Tashi Wangchuk, 19, shared how the physical challenges, including a 12-kilometre route march and a 10-kilometre run, reshaped his perspective.
“I used to dread physical exercise, but I learned perseverance and realised that even the toughest tasks are achievable. This programme taught me to push my limits and find success through determination,” he said.
Similarly, Quezang Dolkar Penjor, 19, highlighted her personal growth. “Before this programme, I lacked confidence and struggled with communication. Over three months, I developed strong social, time management, and teamwork skills. I have become self-aware, disciplined, and committed to making a positive impact wherever I go hereafter,” she said.
The Gyalsung passing out parade symbolises a rite of passage, transforming young boys and girls into confident and capable men and women ready to contribute to the nation.
