Bhutan is at the Doha Expo 2023 in Qatar, presenting a variety of products, including delectable cuisine and intricate handicrafts.

The Expo, taking place at Al Bidda Park, one of Doha’s largest parks, offers visitors a chance to savour Bhutanese cuisine, and explore artefacts and handicrafts.

The Expo, which is themed ‘Green Desert, Better Environment’, began on October 2, 2023 and will end in March next year.  It features contributions from 72 countries, showcasing various cultures, products, and innovations. The overarching goal is to promote awareness and understanding of advanced methods to combat desertification.

The event serves as a platform for professionals, non-governmental organisations, decision-makers, and participants to engage in discussions and seek sustainable solutions for addressing desertification challenges.

Expo 2023 aligns with Qatar’s National Vision 2030, aiming to position Qatar as a hub for green cities, foster environmentally beneficial products, and champion innovative horticulture practices.

President of Horticulture in Bhutan, Tshering Wangchuk said, “The Qatar Expo 2023 is a significant testament to the strengthening bilateral relationship between Bhutan and Qatar.”

“This collaborative effort between Bhutan and Qatar is not only an opportunity for cultural exchange but also a testament to the significance of international partnerships in the world of trade and diplomacy,” Tshering Wangchuk said.
